HANDWHEELS

KIPP handwheels are designed for manually rotating a shaft. They are used as control elements primarily in machine and plant construction in order to make manually adjust or set by rotation. They are often attached to fittings, machine tools and gear motors where they are used to open and close valves. Handwheels can also used to move individual machine parts in case of emergency.

Handwheels - Operating principle

To ensure that rotation movements of the hand are perfectly transferred to the machine parts to be adjusted or positioned, the KIPP handwheels are connected to the shaft by means of a parallel key/slot connection or, alternatively, by means of a clamp. A handwheel may also be fitted with a crank to make it easier to operate.

Handwheels - styles

The KIPP product range includes various styles. Including aluminium spoked handwheels, plastic disc handwheels and DIN 950 cast iron handwheels. Thermoset and thermoplastic styles also available. With the NOVOgrip design line, KIPP also provides ergonomically shaped handwheels.
